Daily One-Line Journals, Gel Nails & Kansas City

We all know... I'm not a consistent blogger. I think the past 5 months of absenteeism effectively relates that fact. So far, 2013 hasn't given me a bunch to like: my grandmother died on my ex-husband's birthday, my sister lost her job, my sister-in-law had a miscarriage, my bestie's mom lost her leg, a co-worker died tragically, and a friend who I've been disconnected with lost her father subsequent to the loss of her mother. However, today, I resolve to discuss three things which I have loved in 2013 because if I have learned anything in my life it is that focusing on the negative does no good.

Daily One-Line Journals -
I stumbled upon this at Ruche.com (my soulmate clothing store). Essentially, the journal gives you a place to record the date and just one sentence about the day. I (clearly) can't commit to more than a sentence, but I want to be able to record. Surprisingly, I'm much better at writing it down in a book than online... sorry readers (if you exist).

Gel- Nails-

I got gel nails with one of my close friends Sonia this past Saturday. They are so glossy, bright, hard, and long lasting... I really don't think much more description is needed. I love them. You should get them go to any nail place that leaves the "s" of nails and you'll get a great mani.... In my case, it was Tina Nail. Solid choice.
Kansas City -

I have my perfect job (for now). I absolutely love being a market conduct examiner and, according to my boss et al,  I'm quite good at it. :) It is amazing! This weekend I had the privilege of going to an work conference in KC, MO. I spent time connecting with industry and regulator professionals and walking around downtown KC with my friend Jakki. It was so much fun! She and I explored the city for 3 and a half hours and took loads of pics. I just had my I-Phone so here are three of mine.

Did I forget to mention, there were MLB players staying in my hotel?  :)
